Macross World Con 2004

Special thanks to Toynami and Tom Bateman of Robotech.com for joining Macross World  and brining along a production sample of the Masterpiece Blue Alpha.   I was fortunate enough to hold it and check out the articulation in greater detail.  There is a very nice amount of diecast on the Alpha.  While I don't know the exact percentage, a rough estimate is that it weighs about the same as a 1/60 scale Yamato Valkyrie.   Tom mentioned that the areas where the color is gun metal (on the figure) are the diecast components.  Other notable features include:

• The tail fins are designed where it tilts outward--a feature not put in the Gakken Legioss Alpha.    
• In fighter mode, the Alpha clears the ground 1/4+ of a inch.
